Susan Durdle was born and raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and proudly carries her Cape Breton and Scottish roots into everything she creates. For nearly three decades, she has been designing and sewing clothing and accessories that celebrate East Coast culture and heritage. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a business when Susan realized how many people were looking for meaningful ways to showcase their East Coast pride.

Sew East Coast has continued to grow, offering a unique selection of handcrafted items for both people and their pets. The current collection includes infinity scarves, classic tartan scarves, and the latest addition—East Coast tartan dog bandanas. Each piece is made with care and is available in a variety of traditional tartans: Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Canadian Maple Leaf, and Black Watch.

Although Susan now creates her pieces from a little further west, her heart—and her thread—will always belong to the East.
